Elsie + Betty Design is an independent commercial interior design consultancy. Established in 2004 by Valentina Kopilas and Kristine Slawinski, Elsie + Betty Design specialises in interior solutions for clients across sectors including healthcare, financial services, retail, media, manufacturing, telecommunications and hospitality. Our consultancy offers the highest levels of professional design expertise, coupled with extensive project management and client service capabilities. We work to exceed professional benchmarks in terms of ethics, design, green building standards and compliance.
Elsie + Betty loves every phase of the design process, from the earliest briefings, through to delivering impeccable documentation, complete project management services, final inspection and handover. We work closely with our clients to translate briefs into engaging, aesthetic, highly productive and functional commercial interiors true to the client’s brief, business, brand and ethos. At Elsie + Betty, we believe that design needs to be carefully considered and well detailed, and our knowledge of products, materials and design means we can pull all these elements together in smart and original design, which is tailored carefully to our client’s exact requirements. We believe that well-designed workspaces allow staff to maximize productivity, engagement and enjoyment of the work they do.
Our business has evolved from a two man studio to a thriving CBD practice thanks to repeat business from existing clients, client referrals and industry recognition including the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Award for Tourism and Leisure Development. Whilst we have experienced significant growth, the practice remains at a level where we genuinely care about our service levels and project outcomes for each and every client.
WHAT WE DO
From start to finish, Elsie + Betty understands the step-by-step process of new commercial interior fit outs as well as existing refurbishments and renovation projects. Our firm is highly experienced at taking clients through the process of workplace change and outlining leading edge concepts in office, hotel, retail and healthcare environments. We are proficient at high level planning and detailed conceptual design.
We listen very carefully to our clients to ascertain the needs and the requirements of the project and ensure that our response directly addresses those needs. We carry out extensive briefing sessions with client representatives to ensure that the functional requirements are met from the very first concept plan.
We pride ourselves on our detailed and thorough documentation packages to ensure accurate tendering by builders and to enable translation of the design to a finished product that reflects the client’s expectations.
